Inline component specification for operation inference

Component kind (e.g. CONTENT, COVER)

Production kind (e.g. SADDLE_STITCHED, PERFECT_BOUND)

Whether this component is printed at all. False for blank endpapers, pre-printed inserts or board components — no printing operation is inferred. Defaults to true when omitted.

Number of colour units printed on the front side (e.g. 4 for CMYK). Used for press constraint matching. Null leaves the constraint unchecked (permissive).

Number of colour units printed on the back side; 0 for single-sided work. Used for press constraint matching. Null leaves the constraint unchecked (permissive).

Whether any non-process (spot) inks are used. Defaults to false when omitted.

Number of spot (non-process) ink channels required. Checked against a press's spot-colour capacity (a press with 2 spot heads cannot run a 3-spot job). Defaults to 0 when omitted.

Preferred printing process: offset, digital or inkjet. Null lets the estimator/scheduler choose.

Optional inkjet flatwork format: standard or wide_format

feedTypeString

Optional inkjet flatwork feed: sheet or roll

Optional inkjet flatwork curing: aqueous or uv_led

Total content pages (e.g. 64 for a 64-page text block). Drives fold patterns and signature structure. Null for non-paginated work such as flatwork.

Production run quantity (number of finished copies)

Finishing operations to apply after printing. Omitted means no finishing operations are inferred.

Whether endpapers are required (case binding) — adds an endpaper production branch. Defaults to false when omitted.

Whether head/tail bands are required (case binding). Defaults to false when omitted.

Whether the substrate must be cut before printing (parent sheets to press sheets). True for offset from parent stock, false for pre-cut digital stock. Defaults to false when omitted.

Substrate width in millimetres. Evaluated against work center sheet-size constraints; null leaves those constraints unchecked (permissive).

Substrate height/length in millimetres. Evaluated against work center sheet-size constraints; null leaves those constraints unchecked (permissive).

Substrate weight in gsm (grams per square metre). Evaluated against work center stock-weight constraints; null leaves those constraints unchecked (permissive).

Substrate caliper in millimetres. Evaluated against work center thickness constraints; null leaves those constraints unchecked (permissive).

Substrate coating (e.g. "COATED", "MATTE", "UNCOATED"). Evaluated against work center media constraints; null leaves those constraints unchecked (permissive).
