CANONICAL TYPE REFERENCE

FoldPattern

A standard fold pattern from the fold catalog

idString!

Fold catalog identifier, e.g. "f4", "f8", "f16". Not a TypeID — this is a static catalog key, and it is what permittedFolds accepts.

nameString!

Bindery-facing pattern name, e.g. "16-page signature", "6-page (tri-fold)"

Finished pages one folded sheet yields, counting both sides (16 for f16). Total page count is padded up to a multiple of this; the shortfall becomes wastePages.

Number of folds the folder must make to produce the section (0 for the flat 2-page pattern)

Whether this pattern can be folded in-line on a web press folder

Heaviest stock caliper this fold tolerates, in mm; null means no thickness limit. High-fold patterns are the constrained ones (f24 ≤ 0.08 mm, f32 ≤ 0.06, f48 ≤ 0.04, f64 ≤ 0.03).
